AOL Inc. (NYSE:AOL) revealed picks for its 2010 "best-of" food, entertainment and lifestyle hunt that kicked off earlier this year.
Austin was picked among 25 metros to feature the 2010 City's Best program. The results of the Web competition are meant to act as a guide to the best each location has to offer. AOL writers and editors chose a list of finalists in each category and winners were chosen through online polling.
Many of the Austin winners were the usual suspects — The Salt Lick taking the prize for barbecue, for example — but others were a little more surprising. For instance, where's the best place to break up in Austin? Peter Pan Mini Golf.
Vespaio Enoteca on South Congress apparently makes the best breakfast and arguably Chuy's was voted best Mexican food. Voters said Hotel San Jose on South Congress is the best after work dive and Trudy's is the best place to drink during the day. The full list of Austin winners is available here.
